How about a yearly subscription cost option? A guaranteed number of episodes for a certain cost?

Just watched the third episode. Great job guys. One thing that was’nt mentioned during gov setup was the importance of throttle endpoints being as close to 100,100 as possible. How important is this and what are safe and acceptable numbers for the gov to function properly? I use a AR7100R on my 600 hundred and can get 100 and 92 mechanically but on my 700 using the align gov, I am 110 and 83. That was the best I can do mechanically. Are those safe numbers? Thanks again, you guys rock!

Would love to see a video on Flybarless set up IN DETAIL. With the FBL revolution comming It would be nice to see some set up techniques. Also more explanation on what is enough torque for flybarless helis, since you need more than flybared, but how much is enough.
Love the vids and the comedy also….
Thanks.

Ok guys I have downloaded all of your episodes and love them. They are very informative and useful.
So I have an idea for you what about setting up yearly subscriptions for a set rate. This will give you more income at the beginning and lock people in for 12 months allowing you a basis to set a budget to then anyone that purchases the individual downloads will be just added profit. just an idea if you like it let me know I will be the first to buy a subscription.
Thanks,
Peter Coleman

I know you guys love your .90 size nitro’s but don’t forget about the little electrics too. Something I seem to struggle with on the smaller heli’s are tick tocks both aileron and elevator. You guys make it look so easy though so some help and advice on these would be awesome as well as other 3d moves on smaller heli’s.

Awesome videos.
My favorite was episode 3. It was clean and very professional.
I would like to suggest you have available for download a copy that is clean without a guest that is using foul language. (or just keeping it professional like the last episode)
I have a 6 year old son and we watch them together, so please have a clean one available for download so we can view them together without interruption.
I am in the process of rebuilding an engine I messed up and episode 1 was a life saver. Thanks!!!!
Can you touch on a couple of terms?example, What is Travel Adjust, Sub trim, Throttle curves and pitch curves.
How do I set my Jr 9303 that has 7 points to match your throttle curves with 5 points you have on episode 3?
How much negative pitch is recommended on a throttle hold?
One last question, I just recently bought a Raptor 90SE and would like your opinion on what electronics to get for it.
Servo’s, Gyro and Servo, receiver, muffler.
I have a Jr9303 and a OS91 SZH motor that I am rebuilding since I leaned it to much.
My goal is to fly 3-d like you guys do.
Keep up the good work.
Looking forward to episode 4.

Karel,
Thanks for your good comments, unfortunately making “clean” versions is not feasible due to space, bandwidth and time constraints. However, we do not expect to release every episode with graphic language. In addition, every time there is graphic language, we put two warnings, one in the beginning of the episode and one before the actual scene, when you see the warning before the scene, simply forward the episode or mute it until the end of such scene.
I don’t understand the question below:
“Can you touch on a couple of terms?example, What is Travel Adjust, Sub trim, Throttle curves and pitch curves.”
Travel adjust is also known as ATV or EPA. They are values that allow you to adjust how much a particular servo travels in each direction. Sub trim is simply a way to change the center point of a servo and throttle and pitch curves determine the throttle and pitch slope (defined by points).
As far as using 7 point throttle curve, simply ignore 2 of the points, when you use a governor, the throttle curve is not critical.
I recommend about -4 degrees on throttle hold, this allows you to bring the collective stick all the way down (full negative) and still have a moderate descent rate on the helicopter. This makes it easier to do autos.
As far as making recommendations when it comes to equipment, we prefer not to as we tend to remain neutral at SmackTalk RC when it comes to brands. Any good, high end digital servo from Align, JR, Hitec, Outrage, or Futaba would work well, same for gyros. Pick a leading brand for a gyro, such as Futaba, Spartan, JR or Curtis products.

Thank you very much for your response. That was fast I might say.
You answered all my questions by the way.
Keep up the good work.

Hi, why do you place a download limit of 3? I don’t like that this wasn’t mentioned before I paid
I paused my download and restarted – now I’m at 2, what if my hard drive crashes? 3 is too low.
Hello,
We have found that 3 downloads is more than plenty to allow for occasional errors. Failure rate on downloads is less than 1% meaning that 99% of viewers have success downloading with just 1 try! If your hard drive crashes, you can always go back and download again.
To all of those who had issues and reached their download limit, simply contact us by clicking on the “Contact Us” link at the top of the page and we will reset the download counters for you.

Hello Bert & Bobby,
I have been seriously considering going flybarless with my 700 but a lot of guys that I fly with say that there is a huge loss of resolution in the servos due to the the length of the bellcranks. They say you lose all precision. Is there any workaround to that problem? Do you guys feel that as well on the FBL? I would say my style of flying is advanced with pirouette maneuvers on the deck so on so forth. Would you guys recommend going for it or perhaps holding on? It’d be great if you could touch on the subject in one of your vids sometime. Thanks. Keep up the awesome work!
Hello,
I do not think that losing resolution is an issue, for example on the Align system, smaller servo wheels are used to compensate for the loss in resolution. Also, many top pilots, such as Kyle Dahl fly flybarless systems with extreme precision and smoothness. I can’t tell you what to do because FBL is so different than you will need to try it for yourself.
Guys, if you have any more questions, please post them at our forum on RR: http://rc.runryder.com/helicopter/f144p1/
We want to keep this only for suggestions and not turn it into an interactive Q&A session.
Thank you

Great videos guys! I look forward to meeting you both at this years XFC! Here in Alaska we fly R/C helis also watching out for the bears and mosquitoes!
Anyway, watching your videos it would be nice if the quality of the picture is better. I loaded #4 and I don’t know if its my computer, but I was getting some ghost images in some of the shots.
One other comment is the sound from your interviewers was better when you handed the interviewee the mic. The one interview of Scott Gray was kinda hard to hear. You guys doing the interview sounds great. The new sound equipment is working awesome, and the content is top notch! Asking pros other than yourselves about setups and tips goes way beyond showing people that the tips you both give us is common amongst skilled pilots!
The comment Alan Jr. gave about collective pitch was awesome! Just reduce the pitch till it doesn’t bog is awesome.
Keep up the great work!

B&B,
Thanks for all the videos they are great. I would really like to see an annual subscription. I think the price per video is pretty cheap but in the long run they are going to add up. I would happily pay $60-70 for an annual subscription. It would also be cool to add some sort of a forum for subscribers where people could ask/answer questions relevant to each episode.
Also, please don’t be afraid to add more technical videos. You guys apologized for the amount of information in the setup and nitro videos. In my mind that is the biggest value the two of you have to offer and is definitely worth the price of the video. We can watch people fly for free all over the internet.
Peace Out,
HAMMOCK

Hi Bert and Bobby. Are you guys planning to release all episodes on DVD later this year. or make it available as an image to burn?.. i sure would pay a few bucks more for that
it saves a lot of time for us customers.
I forgot to ask you guys a question. On the episode “everything about nitro engines” you forgot to mention how to clean the engine after you take it apart. The piston in my engine had hole in it and piston parts all over the insides. What chemical do I use to clean?
Thanks,
Karel

Just finishing your Episode Three I have a thought. With Bert showing recent videos of flying a converted 700e your episode showed a lot about setting up a nitro machine, it’s gov/limiter, etc but nothing to us folks that know the power, convenience and simplicity of electric-powered machines. Our house has 3 lipo machines all the way up to a 12S 600ESP putting out over 5HP. Bert’s videos show him beating on a 700e running 12S and we’d like to share those advantages/disadvantages to folks looking into what direction to go in their purchases.
Something like an Electric vs. Nitro Episode detailing the differences in setup/flight characteristics, etc. At least touch base on the high-powered electric systems on the market such as CastleCreations (our favorite), Kontronik, etc. As lipo-powered systems become affordable and the prices of oil-based products increase it seems worthy for video time in your videos.
I enjoyed your episode and it seems to be a good introduction to folks trying to swim through the deep waters of setting up their machines. Great work and we look forward to more informative episodes in the future.
Thank you,
Dale & Becky
